Marine Conservation Courses in Similan Islands and Koh Tao
All our ECO-courses are conducted by our Biologist Jenifer Matthews. She is our Conservation Manager and Eco person at Big Blue Diving in Koh Tao. We conduct the courses both on Liveaboard in Similan Islands and with Big Blue Diving in Koh Tao. The courses are conducted in English and why the description is in english.
Course: CONSERVATION SPECIALIST
This two and a half day course that includes certification in both SSI Marine ID, SSI Shark Diver and SSI Perfect Buoyancy specialties. The course also includes training in the international coral health monitoring programme, CoralWatch and five dives.
Eco Objective
This is the perfect combination for an introduction into marine ecology and conservation, and will provide you with the foundations to contribute significantly to marine conservation activities.
What do I need to start?
You have to already have completed the Open Water Diver Course with either SSI or PADI. Big Blue provides all equipment, boat trips, etc.
How long will it take?
The course takes two and a half days to complete.
Typical diary
Day One - Starting in the afternoon with the SSI Perfect Buoyancy training.
Day Two - SSI Marine ID training and 2 fun dives
Day Three - SSI Shark Diver training and shark dive/snorkel. Discovery night dive as well!
