Speedboat Daytrip Diving Schedule from Khao Lak
Pick up in Khao Lak is between 7.00-7.45am. the boat departs just after 8 am, and the trip takes about 70 minutes to the Similans. Divers do one dive in the morning and one dive in the afternoon. The time between dives is spent together with the snorkelers on one of the islands. The schedule for snorkelers is similar with the difference that snorkelers usually snorkel from the beach in the morning and in the afternoon they can chose to continue to snorkel from the beach or they can join the divers to a new site.

Safety
Since all our staff is trained in first aid you can be sure you will be taken care of in case of an acident. We have well thought through routines and many years of experience from diving and snorkeling operations. We have all neccessary first aid and safety equipment on board. With Scandinavian Dive Team you never have to wonder whether your guide can swim.
Our staff
We want all our guests to come back from the Similan Islands with a big smile on their face, therefore we have guides with long experience of diving and snorkeling in tropical waters, who knows the Similan Islands and who knows the routines onboard. All our staff is english speaking. Some of them also speak Swedish, Norwegian or German.
Environmental awareness
Corals are fragile, and it is important to us that our guests and ourselves do our best not to damage any corals, therefore we have taken as a general rule not to touch anything under water. Environmental awareness is also important to us. We have got the only speedboat running on ethanol, we bring back all our garbage to the mainland and we never throw anything overboard.

Our Boat Alphagirl
Alphagirl is our own boat. She is one of the biggest speedboats in the Similan Islands, and she is built for diving and snorkeling.
The hull was completely re-built for the 2009-2010 season. The engines are one year older and they can be run on ethanol.
The boat is registred for 36 guests, but we have chosen to limit our number of guests to 26 (16 divers), therefore there is always enough space onboard. Main part of the boat is covered but if you want to better your sun tan during the ride over to the Similans, there is space in the bow. This is also the best place to look out for dolphins.
The trip to the Similan Islands takes about 70-75 minutes in normal conditions. We make it back in time for you to have a sunset drink on the bach in Khao Lak.
Most dive centers in Khao Lak do not have their own boat. When you book your diving and snorkeling, make sure you book with a dive center that has its own boat. If you book with a dive center without a boat of their own, or with a local booking agent, you might end up on a bigger slowboat that takes 3 hours to the Similans, and once there they will not be able to bring you onto the beach since there is no pier.
