
Travel Information about Khao Lak - Thailand
Khao Lak is situated just one hour north of Phuket International Airport on the beach side of the Andaman Sea and is one of Thailands most peacefull resort destinations. Three national parks are surrounding the Khao Lak area with rolling hills leading down to the beaches that stretches more than 30 km.

Khao Lak is a relaxing oasis, with a perfect combination of cool tropical rainforest, accomodation close to the beach and long white sandy beaches. Hosting the best scuba diving in Thailand, relaxing snorkel excursions and a large selection of resorts and hotels, you will have a very pleasantfull stay here.
Divesites
From Khao Lak you will find more scuba diving than just the Similan Islands. Similan Islands are listed as one of the Worlds Top 10 dving areas, but has much more to offer. Good diving can be found close to Khao Lak, such as the Boon Song Wreck, Premchai Wreck, Khao Nayak and Thai Muang reef. 'The most famous and in our opinion the best, is the Boon Song Wreck.
Resorts
Khao Lak is home to some of the worlds finest resorts and spas. White sandy beaches, golfing, rockclimbing nd jungle trekking can be found only minutes away form your resort. Tere is a large selection and we will be happy to help you out with advice.
Aktiviteties
In and around Khao Lak you will find a good selection of activities, you can play golf directly on the seafront, snorkel the colourfull reefs, mountainbike on lush jungle trails, river rafting, jungle trks through Khao Sok National park and ofcourse the best scuba diving in Thailand.
Khao Lak is situated just one hour from Phuket International Airport.With many budget airlines in the region, flyin is often the cheapest soloution.
If you want to go by train, the nearest stop is in Surat Thani, approx. 3 hours away.
Taxi
We recommend you book the trip with Khao Lak Taxi. If you choose to do it by yourself, be prepared to pay between 1700 and 3000 THB for the trip which is just one hour.
Flights
Phuket is a very big international airport and has direct connections to most of the world and many local connections i the region from Bangkok, Hong Kong, Australia, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. Its often cheaper to fly than taking the bus from Bangkok.
Trains
Unfortunately there is no trains directly to Khao Lak, nearest stop is Surat Thani, 180 km east of Khao Lak. From here you can take the bus ( 200 THB) or taxi (3000 THB).
